At TECCON Austria, precise testing and validation are at the heart of passive vehicle safety. Our Passive Safety Center offers test facilities to develop, test and optimize safety solutions – from single component testing to full vehicle crash analysis. As an officially accredited test laboratory, we meet the stringent requirements of Euro NCAP to comprehensively test vehicle safety.
We support OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with development and homologation testing according to international regulations and consumer protection programs, including UN regulations, FMVSS (USA), CMVSS (Canada), GB (China), AIS (India), ADR (Australia) and Euro NCAP. Our integrated crash laboratory enables end-to-end validation – from the early development phase through to certification – at a central location in Europe.

Crash testing
We carry out complete vehicle crash tests in accordance with global regulations and customer-specific requirements. Our test field is equipped with a 90-meter long acceleration track, high-speed cameras and state-of-the-art measurement technology. Among other things, we test

Sled tests – Frontal & Lateral
Our sled test systems simulate vehicle crashes realistically and enable the early development of safety systems.
Advantages:
✔ Frontal sleds for testing occupant protection, seats, airbags and battery safety
✔ Lateral sleds for side impact scenarios (e.g. pole impact, barrier crash)
✔ Cost and resource savings thanks to high repeat accuracy and reduced number of tests

Homologation tests & type approval
At the Passive Safety Center, we support manufacturers in homologation tests and type approval procedures. As an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited andEuro NCAP-certified test laboratory, we are a partner laboratory of ALEE – Alliance des laboratoires d’essai européenne GmbH, a technical service designated by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and part of a powerful European network for vehicle and component homologation. Homologation-relevant tests and crash tests are carried out in our test laboratory using the ALEE designation. For our customers, this means clear responsibilities, regulatory certainty and efficient handling of type approval projects.
Consumer protection
In the area of consumer protection (Euro NCAP), we coordinate together with SAFETY LABS AUSTRIA (SLA) we coordinate comprehensive Euro NCAP overall tests for vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. As a technical partner, we plan, coordinate and carry out tests for SLA within the framework of the current Euro NCAP test protocols.
Our range of services includes the organization and execution of crash tests, the integration of various test disciplines and the evaluation and documentation of the results.
By working closely with SLA, we ensure that all relevant test categories in the Euro NCAP program – from passive safety to other safety-relevant assessment areas – are implemented efficiently and in compliance with standards.
In this way, we support OEMs and suppliers in preparing vehicles specifically for the demanding Euro NCAP assessment criteria and achieving optimum results in consumer protection.

On-site test release means a lot of time and travel costs for our customers. But now there is an innovative solution: remote testing.
With Microsoft HoloLens and Microsoft Teams, you can be there live – without having to travel. A TECCON Austria employee can guide you through the test preparations by wearing the HoloLens, and you can discuss all the details directly with our test staff. Once all points have been clarified, you can conveniently approve the test remotely.
This saves time and money and makes the test even more efficient.
